ANS.There are five colleges affiliated to the Delhi University offering Journalism at the undergraduate level. They are:-

Lady Shri Ram College.

Delhi College of Arts and Commerce.

Kamala Nehru College.

Kalindi College.

Maharaja Agrasen College.

The notifications for admission in Delhi University for undergraduate courses are usually published in leading Newspapers after the class XII CBSC results are declared.

The eligibility criterion is 10+2 in any stream. All colleges hold separate entrance examinations for admission to the Bachelors in Journalism. The course outline for the entrance test would cover student’s knowledge on current affairs, awareness about media, journalistic aptitude and language skills. ANS. Bachelor of Mass Media offered by the University of Mumbai equips you with industry knowledge. Entry in Media Institutions is through an entrance test conducted privately by each college. The notification is usually published in the month of May/June. Some of the prominent Institutions offering this course are,

Lala Lajpat Rai College, St Xavier’s Institute of Communication, Vivekananda Education Society’s College of Arts Science and Commerce.

The COURSE CONTENT of the 1st year, first semester is dedicat ed to the basics of econom ics, sociology, world history, computers and fundamen tals of mass communication. The second semester progresses towards principles of marketing and management. Also covers the Indian po litical system and English literature. The 2nd year, third semester is devoted to understanding the foundations of advertising public relations, cul tural studies, media studies and creative writing. The fourth semester focuses on mass media research and understanding organizational behaviour. It also covers radio, cinema and television as well as ad vanced computer, print pro duction and photography. The 3rd year encompasses semesters five and six. You must choose to specialize in either ad vertising or journalism. In the former, the fifth and sixth semesters will be devoted to learning the basics of advertising (copywriting, designing issues and aspects, consumer behaviour, media plan ning and brand building).The last semester focuses on market research as pects, legal issues and advertising ethics, financial management, agency management, and direct marketing.

If you opt for journalism, you learn about reporting, editing, feature writing, Indian regional and magazine journal ism. By the last semester, you add broad cast, niche and internet journalism to your repertoire.
